French Vogue April 2011

I have scanning the blogs all this week for the April Cover of French Vogue which is Emmanuelle Alt's 1st cover as the Editor in Chief. Well, it is here.  Gisele Bundchen is the cover girl, photographed in Dolce & Gabbana (Spring RTW 2011 Collection). The cover certainly invokes Spring in a way, and sorta reminds me of French Country side (photoshoot location was St. Barts) , wine, grapes and Luxury. What do you think? Has Emmanuelle scored a hit and validated her new position?

Emmanuelle did an interview recently with UK newspaper, The Telegragh in which she stated that while she may not do a major change for French Vogue, she does want to "more beauty, more lifestyle... and use more young designers." I'm already anticipating the May Issue as it should be a haute couture shoot featuring Kate Moss in designs by Julien Fournie (a newcomer), Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Chanel, and Alexandre Vauthier. Also exciting, when asked about some of the new designers she has her eye on, she listed Haider Ackermann! Here's The Link to the Full Interview at Telegraph.co.uk

Hey, sometimes, change isn't always bad, plus Lady has earned her keeps.

Here is Carine's Last Issue for French Vogue (March 2011) which features Dutch model Saskia de Brauw in what appears to be a video screen shot.
I just found a new blog today, Fashionably Social, a personal Style Blog by Amanda Del Duca. She has a great sense of style. Here's a link to a post she did on all of Carine Roitfeld's Covers as EID for French Vogue Carine Roitfeld French Vogue covers (2001-2011)
