MET Ball 2011

Giselle Bundchen also in Alexnader McQueen

The MET Ball is "Oscars" of Fashion, Creme de la Creme- haute Couture. While I was disappointed in some outfits (I felt some ladies played it safe), bulk of the Fsahionistas came through. Few took the daring routes and others went the high fashion route much to my delight. Stella McCartney, co-host of the event, also scored several looks on the red carpet , from Rihanna, Madonna to Pregnant Kate Hudson.
Miranda Kerr in Marchesa. Swan Queen!
Blake Lively in Chanel.
Seen here with Karl Lagerfield. Loving the Ariel Theme (intentionally or not)!

Some paid homage to the Alexander McQueen - rightly so! Here are some highlights of my favorites and not so favorites. I wouldn't call it "best dressed" for the MET as its all about Fashion. We know some of what is termed fashionable may or may not sit well with others but since its the Costume Institute Gala, you can and should get away with playing with Fashion!
Shalom Harlow in Marchesa
 Taylor Swift in J. Mendel
The best I've seen on Taylor Swift - dress and styling . Big Thumbs UP for her!!!
 Ashley Green in Donna Karan.
The Great dame herself, Anna Wintour in Chanel.
Emma Stone looking Lovely in Lavin. Love the dash of pink with the lipstick!
 Crystal Renn in Alexander McQueen
Naomi Campbell in Alexander McQueen (hair was not good)
Christina Ricci in Zac Posen, accompanied by the designer himself
 Liz Tyler in Givenchy
Dakota Fanning is gearing up to be quite the Fashionista.  In Valentino
Don't you just love Hailee Steinfeld? In Stella McCartney
 Bar Rafaeli in Reem Accra
 Ciara in Prabal Gurung
Ginnifer Goodwin in Custom Top Shop!!
Love it!! She entire styling was on point -Hair, makeup, accessories.
Jennifer Lopez in Gucci
 Diane Kruger in Jason Wu
Raquel Zimmermann in Alexander McQueen
Diana Agron in Micahel Kors
Just like Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars, Diana pulls of simple, classic and sophisticated in a way that stands out - the hair, styling and accessories are tres chic! Best I've seen her!
 Leelee Sobieski in Vionnet
 Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein
Sarah Jessica Parker in Alexander McQueen
Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen. This is a little demure for Salma and she works it!

Beautiful but Safe
 Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney
She's been doing this silhouette and color palette a lot lately

Eva Mendes in Stella McCartney. I've seen her in better outfits. Same goes for Rihanna.
Rihanna in Stella McCartney
Amy Adams in L'Wren Scott.
Just like Gwyneth, Amy's been doing the same sequin fitted dresses lately.
Michelle Williams in custom-made Miu Miu gown.
Love her too but lately, there's just something with her and these dresses. Remember her 2011 Golden Globes
Disappointing!!
Brooklyn Decker in Michael Kors.
While, Diana Agron looked like a Glam Queen, the shoes and styling made this outfit look like a movie premier. Same goes for Lara Stone
Lara Stone in Calvin Klein
No words! Alexa Chung in Christopher Kane
Kristen Stewart in Proenza Schouler. Makes her look so much older
No words also! Saoirse Ronan in Rodarte.
Not flattering at all.  Mary-Kate Olsen in Givenchy Haute Couture
Ashely Olsen in Vintage Dior. Nice slit but the puff sleaves are not that flattering.
Lea Michelle in  Escada. The top of the dress is not working for me.
Not a fan of this dress. Madonna in Stella McCartney
Solange in Dries Van Noten. The dress, the styling - hair & makeup are a dud!
Jennifer Hudson in Vera Wang. Colors are bland IMO plus same silhouette again!
Leighton Meester in Louis Vuitton. Might have worked at an MTV Movies Award
Joy Bryant in Missoni. Would have worked if the colors were much more vibrant.
Frieda Pinto in Chanel couture
If she wanted to wear a tie, I'd prefer her go Anne Hathaway's Oscars' look or Rihanna 2010 MET Look

Kerry Washington - Boring!
Kate Hudson in Stella McCartney.
Love her but this is not working, looks like something you'll find in Macy's Prom Season. Seen her in more fabulous outfits especially while pregnant. Same goes for Jessica Alba in Ralph Lauren.
Naomi Watts in Stella McCartney
Either she didn't watch the Oscars or she saw Mandy's Moore's Monique Lhuillier dress and was like, I'd have to wear it!
Christina Hendricks in Carolina Herrera. Disastrous!
